Google vs Yahoo

 


 


 

The screengrabs above show how the homepages of Yahoo and Google have changed over the last ten years.


While Yahoo has added more and more links, images and text to its frontpage, Google has opted to leave the page simple and free of everything except the Google search box and links to its services.


Given that the frontpage of any website commands the highest revenue, Google has resisted the temptation to clutter the page with advertsising and other distractions. A strategy that has seen Google grow to a $250 billion business.
