Goodreads sees impressive traction from book lovers

 

 

In September, Goodreads, the social network for book lovers then had over 5 million book reviews and counted over 300,000 more members. Four months later, the site has reached past 10 million book reviews and now has 700,000+ members, with the 1m benchmark on the horizon.

 

 

And being named one of Time magazine’s top 10 sites of 2007 certainly added a nice feather to their cap.

Otis Chandler, the founder of the site, said recently that he wants to make it the “water cooler…for books.” He went on to say, “You can always go to work and talk to people about last night’s ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ but it’s harder to do that with books.” With GoodReads, you can easily find that other Jackie Collins fans any time.
